Oli and a Cowboy Beetle - which is like a big Christmas Beetle. They remind me of teddy bears because they're very gentle and they are fluffy underneath. They eat nectar so they probably love our garden. They bumble around the place and crash into things.
This is a Gladiator spider and it holds a net which it casts onto creatures that walk underneath it. There is a clip about these spiders here 
I've never seen one of these before, probably because they are so well-camouflaged.
